ABOUT ME

Jamie Reading coastal portrait.jpg

Hi, I'm Jamie Reading, a qualified Personal Trainer and the coach behind Exceed The Bar. I help people bring running and strength training together, build confidence and work towards goals that matter to them.

That might mean getting started with running, feeling more comfortable over 5K or chasing your next PB. Whatever your starting point, I want you to feel that you have a clear direction and someone in your corner.

My approach is built around consistency, purposeful training and a plan that fits your life. Your experience, routine and goals shape the coaching. I want you to understand what you're working on and why, so you can build confidence in your training as well as your fitness.

Running and strength training both have a place in that process. The miles help you develop as a runner, while focused strength work supports your goals. Together, they make training varied, challenging and rewarding.

Progress also takes patience. Some weeks feel great; others need a little flexibility. Having support means you can talk things through, keep perspective and make sensible adjustments as you go. There's room for hard work, honest conversations and a few bad jokes along the way.

Becoming more active changed my own life for the better. That experience is a big part of why I coach: I want to help others discover the enjoyment and confidence that movement can bring.

Before personal training, I worked as a Head Chef. I still value enjoyable, nutritious food and an approach to fitness that makes room for everyday life.

I offer online running coaching and face-to-face personal training at Bannatyne Eastbourne. If you're ready to run stronger, build strength and take your next step, I'd love to hear what you're working towards.

Let's work together to exceed your bar.
